Nuclear Energy and Climate Change
As the threat of climate change from man-made emissions appears to be accelerating toward a global tipping point, energy consumers are faced with a difficult choice; whether to expand nuclear power or rely on developing new forms of renewable energy generation. But renewable sources have not yet developed sufficiently to meet large scale energy demand in western economies. This presentation, given as part of Coventry City Council's Peace Month 2005, discusses whether nuclear power could act as an interim enabling technology, buying time for large scale renewable energy sources to develop and mature.
