Instead the Government's policy is that decommissioned nuclear sites should be cleaned-up to a standard that is suitable for their intended future use. But real-world judgements also need to be made of market sentiment where science sometimes has to take second place to consumer confidence, if the full market values of former nuclear properties are to be realised.
